Chapter 2 - Exploring Our Mission

Tony shook his head as if to protest.

"Leah didn't remain as stupid as she started out in the story," I said to Tony. "She recognized the emptiness and shifted her focus onto a higher level, onto the divine source of all good. She called her fourth son, Judah, which means 'object of praise.' Mary saw this as evidence of a strong progress unfolding here, which she described as,  'corporeal material belief progressing and disappearing, and 'the spiritual understanding of God and man appearing.' In the story Leah didn't stop progressing from this point on, even though she stopped being children at this point. She was inspired by an idea that her sister Rachel, Jacob's other wife, had pioneered. Since Rachel couldn't have children herself she had offered her friend Bilhah to Jacob to have children through her. While Rachel did this to manipulate Jacob to secure his love, Leah did the same and gave her friend Zilpah to Jacob to have sex with her and to have children, but she did this on the higher-level platform that she had previously established for herself. And so, when Zilpah bear a son, Leah rejoiced and counted is as evidence of the boundless good inherent in divine dimension. She stood apart from it now, as if a spectator rejoicing in the light of a profound process. She said, 'a troop is coming' and named the child, Gad, accordingly. Mary recognized this as a profound achievement on Leah's part. She described it as, 'Science; spiritual being understood; haste towards harmony.' When Zilpah's second son was born, Leah rejoiced again, but one can already see regression setting in back towards the old lower-level focus. She said, 'happy am I, because the daughters will call me blessed.' She named the child, Asher, which reflected the idea of one being blessed. This regressive personal sense becomes further emphasized when Leah bears again after her son Reuben has found mandrakes in the field that were believed to aid conception. She sells some Rachel for the privilege to have sex with Jacob again, and thereby conceives another son that she called Issachar, a terms related to 'man' and 'wages' signifying a hired worker relationship. Mary identifies the name as, 'the offspring of error; envy; hatred; selfishness; self-will; lust.'"

"Isn't is amazing how far Leah had drifted away from her previously established high platform," said Indira.

"She drifts ever deeper into regression in the story," I said to her. "She had two more children afterwards. At the birth of her sixth son she ends up mentally back at were she was in the beginning. She said to herself, 'now will my husband dwell with me, because I have born him six sons.' This is the story of tragedy. Perhaps it was a fictional story, the first story of classical tragedy. But the greater tragedy is that it continues to be repeated."

Ross nodded quietly. "We keep telling ourselves that every renaissance in history became lost, because it fell by the sword of the renewed attacks of the forces of empire," said Ross. "The reality might have been that society lost its momentum in moving forward. By loosing its footing in universal principle society becomes vulnerable to be driven back to hell by the winds of the time. The reason for loosing every great renaissance might therefore have been that the pioneers of the great periods of renaissance never took their great principles down to the grassroots social level. Society has never experienced the Principle of Universal Love at the social level, neither had Leah promoted her high attainment universally and had made it a universal platform. Thus it fell by the wayside."

"We see the same happening politically," I said to Ross. "Look at LaRouche for example. He had experienced the emptiness and devastation of war in India where he served in World war II. When he came back, he found the U.S.A. collapsing economically under the renewed take-over of America by the forces of empire. So he fought by promoting the worldwide development of nuclear power, especially the development of nuclear fusion power. Later, when the Cold War 'heated up' and mankind had built over 60,000 nuclear bombs to wipe each other out, LaRouche promoted the principle of the strategic defense that would utilize new physical principles to create an effective antimissile shield, cooperatively developed by all the nations including the Soviet Block. The goal was not only to provide safety for all nations, but also to foster economic development and cooperation across the world that would make nuclear ultimately unthinkable. As this was rejected and the Soviet Union subsequently collapsed as he had forecast it would, LaRouche proposed that the industrial engine of central Europe should be geared up and utilized to redevelop Russia and the world. As this was rejected he expanded the scope further and proposed that all of Eurasia get together on a massive transportation infrastructure project centered on multiple railway links all across Asia, Europe; extending from there into Africa and through a tunnel under the Bering Strait into North and South America. In the shadow of this proposal being rejected also, LaRouche lost his momentum considering that economic development is not allowed by the masters of empire or is it actually possible under the looting of private imperial monetarism. He promoted smaller development projects. He battled the empire on its home ground, fighting its looting monetarism. Fred sent him a copy of our plan that we had developed together with Nicolai, to build a floating intercontinental bridge from Florida at Morocco, 7,000 km long, made of molten basalt and produced in automated industrial processes powered by high-temperature nuclear power reactors. We proposed a kind of project that would put the empire's private monetarism completely out of the picture. Also it would put Africa smack at the center of world development, and do it with the power of new physical principles, high-temperature reactors, and the kind of benefits in economic and technological power that would make it surprisingly more efficient for wealth-building in the long run to create brand new cities with universal free housing. The power of this development would be sufficient to effectively prepare the world for the coming Ice Age. Fred and I felt that this kind or project would be the logical step in the progression of projects LaRouche had focused on as his signature contribution for world development."
